Professional basketball players Samo and Beno Udrih live in Šempeter. The two brothers were such basketball enthusiasts that they adopted the sport as their profession. Samo is playing in Spain and Beno in the NBA.
The beginnings
They started to play basketball very early when they attended evening practices with their father in Prebold. They learned quickly and, although they tried many other sports along the way, remained true basketballers ever since.
Summer basketball tournament
Samo and Beno are proud of where they come from and are always happy to return home. In the summer, they gladly help organizing a summer basketball tournament that is held yearly in the time of town’s festival.
